- The University of Oslo is Norways largest and
oldest institution of higher education. It was
founded in 1811 when Norway was still under
Danish rule. Today the University of Oslo has
approx. 30,000 students and 4,600 employees. - Faculty of Education
- engages in all manner of research projects
within the fields of education, didactics and
special pedagogy. The faculty adheres to both
Norwegian and European guidelines and directs a
considerable amount of its time and resources
towards disadvantaged students or subjects of
educational prejudice, such as children with
learning disabilities and minorities as well as
women and children in todays society. - The Department of Special Needs Education
- A total of roughly 900 students receive
foundational or intermediate-level instruction,
or partake in the professional programme in
Special Needs Education.
