Why did I select this topic?
  • This is a new requirement under the ISO 9000
    implementation at GSFC
  • Contract Specialists for SAP need to be aware of
    these procedures

Objective
  • Track a vendors ability to provide goods and
    services conforming to requirements and
    specifications as well as delivering these items
    in a timely manner.
  • Increase the Contract Specialists knowledge and
    awareness of vendor performance
  • Improve the monitoring of the delivery process
  • Improve customer service by becoming more
    proactive vs. reactive

Approach
  • Form POD 210-1 was created in 11/98 with an
    accompanying memo to the technical representative
  • Purchase Orders (POs) with non-conformance
    issues are returned to the Contract Specialist
  • This information is compiled into a database
    maintained by Mary McKaig

Benefits
  • Ability to track problem vendors
