- A mixed number has a whole number part and a
fraction part. - An improper fraction has a numerator that is
greater than its denominator.

in each pizza. - Noah has 7 pieces left. So, color in 7 pieces

- Second, you will multiply the whole number by the

9Improper Fraction to a Mixed Number
- To turn an improper fraction to a mixed number,
you - Simply divide the denominator by the numerator.
This will give you a whole number. - Then, you subtract the numerator by having you
have left over from the division. - Last, put this fraction over the same denominator
in the improper fraction.

numerator is larger than the denominator. - Example
