Maturity Through Prayer

• Ro. 1212 be faithful in prayer
• Col. 42 devote yourselves to prayer
• Prayer is one element of us building the
  relationship with God, which Jesus died for.
• It is sad that many Christians have a dull,
  boring and devitalized prayer life.

How to Revitalize Your Prayer Life

• Start with the right attitude. Not like the
  hypocrites. Matt. 65
• Be real dont try to impress others as the
  Pharisees.
• Dont try to impress God he knows everything,
  so just talk from your heart.
• 2. Be relaxMatt. 6 6. Be alone, be quiet,
  remove distractions and concentrate.

• 3. Be revealing-- Matt.6 7-8. Just talk, its a
  conversation between two persons. Let Him know
  whats really on your heart.

Prayer Jesus Way

• PRAISE I begin by expressing my love to God. Vs

• -- two kind of praise adoration ( praising God
  for who He is) and thanksgiving ( praising God
  for what he has done). Ps 1004
• How to Praise When you read your Bible write
  down what it says about Gods character. Nu 148.
  
• God answers prayers that recognize who he is

• You can affirm the promises that God has made in
  His names. Eg. Jehovah- Shalom
• Make a list of all the things God has done and
  review them in your prayer. Its amazing to see
  what the Lord has done.

• PURPOSEI commit myself to Gods purpose and will
  for my life v 10. Your Kingdom come Your will be
  done.. Do whatever You want to do in my life.
• PROVISION I ask God to provide for my friends.
  Pray about all needs- great and small.

• Does God knows my needs, then why pray?
• Prayer is totally dependency on God and showing
  it completely.

PARDON I ask God to forgive my sins

• Four steps to forgiveness
• Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal every sin
• Confess each sin specifically
• Make restitution when necessary
• By faith accept Gods forgiveness

People I pray for other people

• Eg of what to say Col 19
• Avoid just saying bless them or help them
• Make a prayer list and use each day to pray for
  different persons.

PROTECTION I ask God for spiritual protection
from God

• We are in a daily battle with the enemy so each
  day we need to start with Gods protection.
• 1John 44 Do not be afraid of the enemy. Know God
  is in control.
• While God can speak to us in many ways we can
  only speak to Him in one way and thats prayer
