This may turn into much more than just a
political scandal. the blockage of bridge traffic
as a possible act of partisan political revenge
has put New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie in the
middle of a serious legal matter. Things are
getting difficult for the Republican presidential
hopeful, as the state assembly plans to post
online 907 pages of documents related to the case
Friday. State lawmakers will certainly continue
to investigate the situation through further
interviews and questioning as well as examination
of documents. For nearly two hours the
high-profile governor answered questions from
journalists, divulging many details. If any of
his answers prove to be false, experts say
Christie could get dragged into civil and
criminal lawsuits. The legislative inquiry into
the alleged misdeeds that led to the traffic jam
on the George Washington Bridge is just beginning.

• For the first time ever, more than half of
  current members of Congress are millionaires,
  according to a new report from the non-profit
  Center for Responsive Politics. Among the 534
  current members of Congress, at least 268 had an
  average net worth of 1 million or more for 2012,
  the CRP said, citing disclosure forms filed last
  year. A year ago, the total stood at 257 members,
  or about 48.
• In a case this week out of Boiling Spring Lakes,
  North Carolina, one officer responded by firing
  his gun, killing 18-year-old Keith Vidal, who was
  mentally ill. The question has been raisedwas
  deadly force the only option?
• The mother of an Omaha toddler is defending her
  son after he unleashed a slew of obscenities in
  an online video that has gone viral. In the
  video, the diapered boy is taunted and cursed at
  by adults, who coax him into using crude words.
  The African-American toddler knocks down a chair
  and responds to some of the comments with a
  middle finger salute. The adults laugh, prompting
  him to unleash more obscenities at them. The
  mother, who is 16, responded by saying, "He had a
  clean diaper, the house was clean andkids curse,
  every kid does it. She went on to say, "He's a
  smart little boy. All that cussing that he did,
  he doesn't do that. Somebody told him to do
  that. My son doesn't do that. I don't allow it.
  She said a friend of her brother filmed the video
  while she was in another room. The police union
  in Omaha, Nebraska, posted the clip on its
  website to highlight what it called the "cycle of
  violence and thuggery" the community faces. The
  Omaha Police Officers' Association is under fire
  from the city's police chief, the ACLU and at
  least one community leader. They say the move
  needlessly antagonizes minority communities.
  Sgt. John Wells, the union's president, said the
  video was "disturbing" and "offensive. The
  focus here isn't on any particular ethnic group.
  The focus here is on the troubling behavior
  toward this child," Wells said. "This behavior is
  going to potentially lead this child down a path
  that is completely unhealthy.
• A lightning strike killed three people on a beach
  in Argentina Thursday and injured 22 others.
• A volcanic eruption in Indonesia that has
  displaced more than 22,000 people is
  intensifying. Mount Sinabung, which began spewing
  gas in September after a three-year slumber, has
  erupted over 220 times this week.
• Lindsay Lohan now has a reality show. Lindsay,
  will premiere on the network March 9.
• Russian authorities are investigating six
  suspicious deaths and at least one car explosion
  this week about 150 miles from the site of next
  month's Winter Olympics.
