    have to be won over
  • Stakeholder Planning
  • the technique to build the support that helps you
    succeed

5
Understanding stakeholders
  • Important to understand the values and issues
that stakeholders have in order to address them
and keep everyone on board for the duration of
    the project

6
Understanding key stakeholders
  • Financial or emotional interest? Positive or
    negative?
  • What motivates them most of all?
  • What do they want from you?
  • Best way of communicating your message to them?
  • Current opinion of your work? Is it based on good
    information?
  • What will win them around if they are not
    supportive?
  • If they cant be won round, how will you manage
    their opposition?
  • Who influences their opinions generally, and who
    influences their opinion of you?
  • Who else might be influenced by their opinions?
  • Do some of these influencers become important
    stakeholders in their own right?
