2Mission Statement
The mission of the Title I Program is to provide
supplementary support to students who are
economically disadvantaged or those identified as
at risk of failing to meet State standards.

3Intent of Title I Program
The overall intent of the Title I program is to
help all children have the opportunity to obtain
a high-quality education and reach proficiency on
challenging state and academic standards and
assessments.
4Title I Funds
- Provide federal funds to public schools with high
numbers of low income students - Must be used to support the core curriculum
content areas - Help to ensure that academic standards are met
- Support local reform efforts that are geared
towards improved student achievement - Improve teaching and learning opportunities for
students - Include strategies that promote and support
parental involvement - Are based on Federal guidelines

6Use of Title I Funds
- Title I Funds can be used to
- Support the instructional program of the school
- Provide additional staff teachers, paras, home-
school liaisons, attendance aids - Purchase additional materials and supplies for
the school - Pay for instructional field trips/ buses for
students - Support parental involvement efforts
- Provide professional development for
administrators and teachers
