Mission Statement
The mission of the Title I Program is to provide
supplementary support to students who are
economically disadvantaged or those identified as
at risk of failing to meet State standards.

Intent of Title I Program
The overall intent of the Title I program is to
help all children have the opportunity to obtain
a high-quality education and reach proficiency on
challenging state and academic standards and
assessments.

Title I Funds

• Provide federal funds to public schools with high
  numbers of low income students
• Must be used to support the core curriculum
  content areas
• Help to ensure that academic standards are met
• Support local reform efforts that are geared
  towards improved student achievement
• Improve teaching and learning opportunities for
  students
• Include strategies that promote and support
  parental involvement
• Are based on Federal guidelines

Use of Title I Funds

• Title I Funds can be used to
• Support the instructional program of the school
• Provide additional staff teachers, paras, home-
  school liaisons, attendance aids
• Purchase additional materials and supplies for
  the school
• Pay for instructional field trips/ buses for
  students
• Support parental involvement efforts
• Provide professional development for
  administrators and teachers
