Pitch

• The highness or lowness of sound

  recognizable tone
• Pitch can be notated with symbols called
  noteheads/stems on a graph called the staff.

• Melody may be defined as a series of individual
  pitches one after another to create a
  recognizable entity

• Harmony - The concordant (or consonant)
  combination of notes sounded simultaneously (at
  the same time) to produce chords (2 or more
  notes).

• Form The term musical form refers to the
  overall structure or plan of a piece of music

Basic Types of Form

• Strophic - This form is defined by its
  "unrelieved repetition" (AAAA...).
• Binary - This form uses two sections (AB...)
  each section is often repeated (AABB...).
• Verse-Chorus Form - The foundation of popular
  music is the "verse" and "chorus". Both are
  essential elements with the verse usually played
  first.
