Femoral Approach Anatomical Limitations
4
Brachial Artery Access
  • Potential Complications
  • Hematoma
  • Acute upper limb
  • ischemia due to dissection

5
Radial Artery Approach
  • Potential Advantages
  • Easy antegrade access to the target lesion
  • Improved patient comfort - no compression
    bandage
  • - early ambulation
  • Reduction of puncture-site related complications

6
Radial Artery Approach- Coronary Technique -
  • 6F Multipurpose guiding catheter (125 cm)
  • 0.014 extra support guide-wire
  • Predilatation (Coronary Balloon) or direct
    stenting
  • Stenting Multilink RX Ultra (CABG Stent)

Conclusions
  • Transradial renal artery stenting is technically
    feasible and safe
  • Easy access to the renal artery even in case of
    difficult anatomy
  • Significantly improves patient comfort and
    reduces access site related complications
  • New equipment by Terumo and Cordis has reduced
the major limitation for the procedure
