    win the Nobel Peace Prize. Hull House in Chicago
    was her most famous settlement house.

    Anti-Trust Act. Included R.J. Reynolds Tobacco
    Co.
  • U.S. vs. EC Knight Co. (1895) sugar trust that
    Supreme Court refused to break up.

    Progressives, who stopped supporting Pres. Taft.
    Split Republican party into Progressives and Old
    Guard. Resulted in presidency of Woodrow Wilson

  • Mann Elkins Act fed. law among Progressive
    reforms. Extended authority of Interstate
    Commerce Commission to include communications.
    Supported by Pres. Taft, also strengthened
    government regulation of the RRs
  • Robert LaFollette Wisconsin Senator and a
    Progressive presidential nominee best remembered
    as a proponent of Progressivism and a vocal
    opponent of RR trusts, bossism, World War I, and
    the League of Nations.
