Classroom Rules
  1. Be in your assigned seat when the bell rings.
  2. Bring all books and materials to class.
  3. Follow directions the first time they are given.
  4. Stay in your seat unless you have permission to
    do otherwise.
  5. Follow the voice level to suit the activity.
  6. Be respectful to your classmates and your
    teacher.
  7. Allow Mrs. Arnold to teach.

Cell-phone, MP3 Player, and IPod Policy
  • ABSOLUTELY NO CELL-PHONES, MP3 PLAYERS OR IPODS
    ARE ALLOWED WHILE YOU ARE IN MY CLASSROOM. THIS
    IS A SCHOOLWIDE POLICY THAT IS BEING INFORCED BY
    ALL TEACHERS AND ALL STUDENTS MUST ADHERE TO THIS
    POLICY. THERE IS NO LENIENCY WITH THIS POLICY. IT
    IS A MAJOR 7 INFRACTION, WHICH MEANS AN AUTOMATIC
    MAJOR WRITE-UP.

Procedure for leaving Mrs. Arnolds Classroom
  • 15/15 Rule Except for emergency or medical
    situations, or the student is requested at the
    office, no hall passes will be issued during the
    first 15 minutes and the last 15 minutes of
    class.
  • If you are leaving to go to the restroom, you
    must sign out on the sign out sheets.

TARDIES
  • Teachers will take care of students who are
    tardy. A student is tardy to class if he/she is
    not inside the door when the tardy bell
    rings. Teachers will enforce punctuality with the
    following system
  • First tardy per nine weeks mark tardy in
    teachers grade book and warning given.
  • Second and third tardy per nine weeks - thirty
    minutes detention after school (STUDENT TO BE
    KEPT BY ISSUING TEACHER).
  • Fourth tardy per nine weeks - Student referred to
    Assistant Principal. 
  • 1 hour detention assigned. 
  • If detention not served, Saturday School
    assigned. 
  • If no show for Saturday School, one day
    Suspension is assigned.
  • Fifth and subsequent tardies - referred to
    Assistant Principal for assignment to ASP,
    alternative placement, and/or court referral for
    assistance.
  • Any student tardy more than five minutes to class
    should be sent to the appropriate administrator
    for skipping.
  • Students will not be excused from one class to
    make up work, or to do special work in another
    class, unless it is a very special case and has
    had prior approval by the Principal. This
    approval will rarely be given to any student or
    group of students. Every effort will be made to
    have students in their assigned area of study at
    all times.

Detention Policy
  • If a student receives detention, he/she can serve
    detention with me after school or the student can
    serve detention with Mr. Thornsburg. Detention
    may be 15, 30, or 45 minute detentions.

Procedures
  • When turning in assignments, you will pass your
    papers to the front of the row. Papers without
    names will not be graded.
  • If you need a tissue, need to go to the restroom,
    sharpen your pencil, etc. raise your hand and ask
    for permission. Do not blurt out during class.

Procedures
  • If you are absent, check the Daily Make-Up Work
    section on the bulletin board or my teacher
    website.
  • If you do not understand the assignment, ask me
    or a classmate.

Homework Policy
  • All homework will be due the day after it is
    assigned.
  • Late homework can be submitted.
  • Each day the homework is late, five points will
    be deducted from the possible score.
  • No homework will be accepted if it is more than
    three days.
  • Homework will be assigned throughout the week.

Make-up Policy
  • If a student is absent or has an extraordinary
    circumstance he/she has three days to make up the
    work.
  • It is the responsibility of the student to notify
    the teacher of any expected absences and get the
    needed assignments.
