Circle Time
  • How to organize their thoughts as they talk about
    their experiences - they learn how to tell a
    story with a beginning, middle, and end.

Creative Appreciation
  • Music Appreciation/Creative Movement
  • The children learn the differences between fast
    and slow, loud and soft all at the same time.

Art Projects
  • Teachers must creative when creating art projects
    for children. For example, children can use dry
    crumpled for a collage that teaches the students
    about life cycles in nature.

Outdoor Play
  • This activity helps to refine a childs
    gross-motor (large muscles) skills. It also is
    crucial to a childs later success in reading and
    writing (right arm/left leg and visa versa).

Cooking
  • Cooking helps to foster math skills- count and
    measure also estimate.

Snack Time
  • Snack time offers an opportunity for children and
    teacher to share and communicate. Snack unlike
    lunch is usually a light meal.

Dramatic Play
  • Playing make-believe helps a child to see a
    grown-up world through their eyes. In dramatic
    play children see pots, pans, stuffed animals,
    toy phones, hats and purses help children to
    dress up and see their parents. Older sibling and
    even teachers in a different light.

  • Manipulative toys help to develop fine motor
    skill, which sets the stage for pre-writing.

  • Puzzles help to develop abstract thinking. This
    helps the child to see a space and envision what
    goes in there.

  • Children develop literacy and Language skills
    from books either by looking at them or having
    them read to the children.
