IN HEAVEN, / WE ASK ALL THESE / IN THE NAME OF
YOUR SON JESUS, / AND BY THE POWER OF THE HOLY
SPIRIT, / ONE GOD FOR EVER AND EVER. / AMEN! /
8What Change Was Introduced?
- On June 3, 2003, the Most Reverend John
- J. Myers, Archbishop of Newark
- established the community as a Private
- Lay Association of the Faithful,
- meaning that as lay organization we
- are to serve in the life and mission of
- the local churches in diocese.
-
9Current Situation
- Community mission is short in
- meeting the requirements of a
- Private Lay Association.
10Community Overall Mission
- To grow in an ever-deepening love relationship
with the Lord Jesus as we love, upbuild, and
serve one another in love , joy, peace, and unity
in community. It stresses communion more than
mission.
11Shift In Direction
- On December 30, 2004 18 months after the
establishment as a Private Lay Association of the
Faithful, the DCS designated a Task Force to
review and promulgate plans to integrate
community into the life and mission in the local
churches of Newark.
