Simplistic definitions of literacy
  • Such as basic reading skills, phonemic
    awareness, grammar mastery, correct spelling will
    not do it!!!!
  • These are important BUT they need to be
    considered in relation to what children need to
    write, with which form of media or technology,
    for what kinds of communities now and in the
    future.
