14Feedback from ADT
15Security Improvements
- Aug 2009 - Permission granted by SANPARKS to
close gap at the top of Birch Street - AGM approved
- Fence - 34 m long, 2.1 m high, with a gate, locks
and signage
16Traffic Matters, Vendors and Dogs
- Enforcement of road signs by traffic department
- monitoring continues - Speed enforcement on Rhodes Drive
- Fining of taxis for leaving their official routes
in Fernwood
Informal Traders and Barking Dogs
- Informal traders Council continues to print
leaflets to encourage people to give vouchers for
shelters instead of money - Awareness continues to rise of new animal by-law
to control noise level of barking dogs
17Land and Planning Issues
- No major applications or decisions outstanding
with Council - Large number of renovations happening in Fernwood
enclosed carports, new garages, converting
garages to entertainment areas - Note FRA play a supervisory and not policing
role when dealing with applications, we
consider - Neighbours
- Precedent in suburb
- LUPO
18Land and Planning Issues
- Departures to date include 0m setback on roads,
building close to neighbouring boundary lines,
slightly higher garage roofs - Remember Neighbours do not need to be consulted
(although it is considered good practice), unless
the application also includes departure from the
zoning scheme regulations (such as building line
relaxation, increased bulk/coverage/height etc.)
or similar proposals, in which case formal
consultation is required
19Membership and Subscriptions
- Still collating new info from security census
into database - Fernwood Households - 657
- FRA Membership 390 (59)
- ADT subscription about 476 (72)
_________________________________ - Continue to collect membership fees via ADT
mechanism (alternatively EFT/cheque) - Thank you for your support!
