• Aim promote international understanding and
  co-operation among medical students through the
  facilitation of student exchanges

• 8,200 students participate annually
• 78 IFMSA national affiliates participate
• Both clinical and pre-clinical electives
  available
• All instruction is in English
• Electives generally always four weeks

SCOPE The Particulars

• Bilateral exchange for every outgoing student
  studying abroad, an incoming student must be
  hosted.
• Housing, food, local transportation, and the
  elective are provided as part of the elective
• Students pay for international transportation
  (airfare), insurance, pocket money

  academic medical center

• In-depth research opportunities include both
  basic science and clinical projects
• More than 1000 projects currently available in 39
  countries

• Research electives typically 1-6 months
  excellent for students interested in a leave of
  absence from medical school
• Over 600 research exchanges in the last year

Teddy Bear Hospital

• addressed to children in the pre-school age, 3-6
  years,
• with the goal to reduce in a playful way the fear
  of children to visit a doctor or the
  hospitalisation
• provides an opportunity for medical students to
  learn more about paediatrics and gives them a
  chance to work with children.
