Get Engaged
  • At IW2007 closing plenary, reports from 31
working groups and initiatives were reviewed
    (copy provided to Francis Peter)
  • This is where the rubber meets the road for
technical activities, and where engagement and
satisfaction are available in almost any domain
    or interest area

13
Long Range Planning Foundations
  • Vision 2020, with version 2.0 in external review,
represents a carefully vetted description of the
    systems engineering profession
  • Advancing the profession delivers value to all
    stakeholders - individual, corporate societal
  • A community vision and the advancement of the
    profession requires a collaborative approach,
    internally externally
  • Target planning horizon 2025

14
Other Factors
  • Systems engineering application is rapidly
expanding on both geographic and domain
    dimensions
  • Achieving our vision requires a foundation in
theory, art, practice and cultural context
  • Agility and value delivery are critical to
    INCOSEs mission success

15
Initial Results
  • The workshop has generated a variety of options
for INCOSEs future data is still being
    transcribed
  • Options will be rated against vision, mission
    goals
  • Member engagement and value delivered are key
    discriminators
  • A substantial degree of alignment exists along
these options, with a number of key decisions
    still open
  • Many of you will be asked for input in the coming
    weeks and months

16
Timeline
  • Input from stakeholders on options next 2 months
    (initial round) and beyond
  • Synthesis of options and stakeholder inputs
    March-April
  • 5 year LRP development April BOD
  • Communication of 5 year strategy and projections
    IS07
