Derek N Cunningham, OD, FAAO
Dr. Cunninghams research covers a wide spectrum
of eye care and neuroscience including dry eye
treatments, glaucoma medications and surgeries,
retinal diseases, cataract and LASIK surgeries,
cosmetic treatments and products, vision
enhancement and sports vision. His innovative
research has been presented at major national
meetings including the American Retinal Society,
the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the
American Academy of Optometry, and the American
College of Sports Medicine. Dr. Cunningham is
an internationally recognized educator, having
provided continuing education lectures to eye
doctors throughout the world. He is also a Fellow
of the American Academy of Optometry and was one
of the first optometrists to be Board Certified
by the American Board of Optometry. Dr.
Cunningham is the director of the Dell Eye
Institute for Dry Eye Research at Dell Laser
Consultants and is well published in the areas of
advanced dry eye treatments. Many of Dr.
Cunninghams dry eye protocols are used by
academic institutions around the country.

Divya M. Varu, MD
Dr. Divya M. Varu is a board-certified
Ophthalmologist specializing in the care
of cataract and refractive surgery patients at
Dell Laser Consultants (DLC). As a
fellowship-trained surgeon in iLASIK and Advanced
Surface Ablation/PRK she provides a customized
treatment plan for patients in order to meet
their individual needs. She is also a skilled
cataract and refractive lens exchange surgeon,
performing surgery using full focus intraocular
lens implants.  With her expertise in a wide
range of complex pathology, Dr. Varu has expanded
the services provided at Dell Laser Consultants
to include comprehensive eye care, dry eye
management, and aesthetic services. She uses
state-of-the-art treatments for patients with dry
eye disease, keratoconus, ocular allergies,
rosacea, glaucoma, retinal disease, and other

M. Nabila Gomez , OD, FAAO
Dr. Gomez attended Nova Southeastern College of
Optometry where she graduated with honors and
received letters of clinical excellence.
Following graduation, Dr. Gomez was selected for
a post-doctoral residency at the 1 ranked eye
hospital in the country, Bascom Palmer Eye
Institute at the University of Miami, where she
received medical and peri-operative training in
all ocular disease sub-specialties. Dr. Gomez
has been repeatedly published in optometry
journals, such as optometrys most read journal,
Review of Optometry. Currently Dr. Gomez has been
working in cutting edge advanced dry eye
treatment that included new research areas of
facial cosmetics and aesthetics. This has led to
her having a unique knowledge of facial care,
facial skin care products and ocular cosmetics.
