    school reform team (SRT) or zone, the readiness
    of elementary students for the middle school
    experience is highly diverse based on their prior
    schools instructional program.

  • All students take the following
  • 4 Core Academics Class
  • 2 Connections/Electives (alternative days)
  • 1 Enrichment Class, called ELT or Extended
    Learning Time

ELT Program
  • During the Extended Learning Time or ELT,
    students are provided remediation and enrichment
    based on areas of deficiencies, interests, and
    other academic needs.
  • Additionally, teachers are provided an
    additional hour of uninterrupted common planning
    time for each content area.

What does the Research Say?
  • Embedded Daily Time has been proven to increase
    student achievement and provide effective
    additional instructional time.
  • Teachers are able to use multi-instructional
    strategies during ELT (i.e., project-based
    activities, learning centers, and other
    research-based multiple intelligence learning
    activities.
