Arts UNIT 1
When should learners take the assessment? You
will need to ask your Examinations Officer to
make test bookings when you judge your learners
are ready to take the assessment. You should
bear in mind when making this decision that these
are level 2 assessments, equivalent to GCSE-level
in standard. Can Year 9s take the external
assessment? As this is a level 2 assessment, we
recommend that you do not enter Year 9 learners
unless you are confident they are ready to take
the test. What are the key dates I need to know
about?Weve listed the assessment opportunities
for Performing Arts on the final slide, with
deadlines for when you need to make test bookings
and expected results release dates. Why are
there deadlines for sectors with task-based
tests? We set test booking deadlines to ensure we
pass all the relevant materials to you in time
the deadlines will generally be in line with GCSE
key dates. We will announce exact times and dates
before every assessment window on the BTEC
website at www.btec.co.uk/externalassessment.

How much feedback will you give when the results
are issued? We will publish an Examiners
Report on the website shortly after we issue the
results the Report will include grade boundaries
and comments on learners performance. Do we
timetable the test or does Pearson set the
dates?Pearson sets the time window for the test,
so you must ensure it takes place within this
designated time. We will announce final dates
and times before the examination session at
www.btec.co.uk/externalassessment. What do test
bookings cost? The first test booking is included
in the cost of the registration. We will charge
re-sits at 13.50 per unit, and we will apply
late fees to any test booking made after the
advertised deadline.

about?Weve listed the assessment opportunities
for ICT on the final slide. Why are these tests
offered on demand? In response to the feedback
we received during the redevelopment of all of
our new BTECs, where we have consulted with our
stakeholders, this sector was deemed appropriate
for onscreen and on demand testing. What software
do I need to run onscreen tests? You can find the
minimum specification information on our website
www.btec.co.uk/externalassessment

Arts UNIT 8
How much feedback will you give when the results
are issued? For onscreen, on-demand testing, test
content and grade boundary information will be
released for centres when test versions are
retired from the test bank. Until this time, all
material is considered 'live' and as such, the
information that can be provided to centres is
limited. Do we timetable the test or does
Pearson set the dates?Once the onscreen tests
are available for your sector, you will be able
to run the tests when you choose to. You should
ensure you only make test bookings for learners
when they are ready to be tested and that that
test environment meets the standards outlined in
JCQ guidance for onscreen testing. What do test
bookings cost? The first test booking is included
in the cost of the registration. We will charge
re-sits at 13.50 per unit, late fees do not
apply to onscreen tests. Learners can only re-sit
the test after they have received a result for
their previous attempt.

As an awarded qualification the results will not be made available straight away and that we will need sufficient learners to take the test to ensure the awarding process is valid prior to publishing the results. We expect this to be between 28-56 days.
