  with the American victory at the Battle of Midway
  in June 1942.

  dropped an atomic bomb on the Japanese city of
  Hiroshima.
• Three days later, the United States dropped a
  bomb on the Japanese city of Nagasaki.
• Approximately 120,000 civilians died as a result
