Were facing another season of widespread
pesticide spraying. Weve been shut-out of the
decision to spray. Now is the time to make our
voices heard.

Sacramentos opt-out resolution. This
resolution is the key to winning safe and
effective mosquito control for the entire region.
Our vector control district can prevent West Nile
without aerial spraying Killing mosquito larvae,
eliminating mosquito breeding grounds, targeted
public outreach, and improved mosquito
surveillance are safe and proven methods that are
shortchanged when resources are used for risky
and unproven aerial spraying. Aerial spraying is
ineffective Killing adult mosquitoes with an
indiscriminately applied spray is a bad way to
prevent West Nile because adult mosquitoes are
largely inaccessible and their populations
rebound rapidly. Aerial spraying exposes
residents to toxins Pesticides have been linked
to an overwhelming variety of health dangers and
have an alarming track record. Exposing
residents should be done only with informed
consent.
We should no longer accept the counsel of
those who tell us we must fill our world with
poisonous chemicals.
