Title: DEMA TITAN WAREWASH CONTROL T-812
1DEMA TITAN WAREWASH T-812 T-813
Instructional Presentation
2The Titan? ware wash system controls all chemical
delivery functions for dish machines and similar
warewash applications. The system has an
advanced power supply that will accept 100V250V
50/60Hz. The Titan? responds to detergent and
rinse triggers in the range of 20V500V 50/60Hz.
The Titan? has been designed for simple
installation, set up, and operation.
The Titan has an Auto Switchover feature that
allows automatic switching from Concentration to
Probeless in the case of a probe fault, (and
back again if the fault clears). This feature
allows continued operation or the dish machine
while cutting down on unnecessary service calls.
Conditions that can activate this feature are
the following Open probe a probe wire is
disconnected or there is lime buildup on the
tips. Closed probe a piece of flatware may be
lying across the probe tips. Detergent not
feeding properly too much or too little
detergent.

8Prior to mounting Titan Location should be based
on
- Desired location of Titan and chemicals
- Electrical Connection for Titan
- Flat vertical surface away from splashing and
steam originating from machine - Titan should must be placed so that it can be
easily observed and serviced
9Attach to Surface
10Follow instructions on Mounting Bracket
Replace Titan on Mounting Plate
11Electrical Connection
- Connect power to the Titan per dish machines
manufacture's recommendations. Constant power
should be supplied to the Titan anytime the dish
machine power is on. The Titan can also be
plugged directly into a wall socket. - Connect the Detergent Trigger to the machine.( If
the Machine does not have a specific trigger
connection, then the trigger should be wired to
the coil of the Motor Contactor) - Connect the Rinse Trigger to the Machine. (If the
Machine does not have a specific rinse trigger
connection, then the trigger should be wired to
the Rinse Solenoid Valve)
12Tubing Connections
- Tubing connection from the Titan to the Machine.
- Tubing connection from the Titan to the Chemical.
13Attaching the Bulkhead Fitting for the chemical
injection of a liquid detergent.
Inside
Outside
- Chemical injection fitting must be above the
water level in the tank - Chemical Injection fitting should be directly
above Conductive Probe
14Installing Conductive Probe
Inside
Outside
- The Probe should be installed 2/3 down from water
level of the tank - The probe should be installed directly below
chemical injection

Magnetic Field Reader
The DEMA Magnetic Field Reader eliminates the
need to make wire connections to warewash and
laundry machines. The DEMA Magnetic Reader
detects the presence of the magnetic field
surrounding an AC solenoid valve or Ac motor.
This may then be used as a trigger signal to a
DEMA warewash or laundry dispenser.
Inductive Warewash Probe
The DEMA Inductive Warewash Probe replaces the
conductivity probe used to sense detergent
concentration in the wash tank. The advanced
technology of the DEMA Inductive Warewash Probe
allows the wash tank conductivity to be sensed
without any metal contacting the wash tank
solution. As a result, the DEMA Inductive
Warewash Probe is immune to contaminants, such as
lime, which plate onto conductivity probes.
52DEMA Magnetic Field Reader
- Disconnect the power from the Titan and the
warewash machine. - Disconnect rinse or wash trigger cable
(81-153-1) from the Titan control board
(81-118-20). - Route the Magnetic Field Reader cable as shown
on next page in to the Titan enclosure. - Plug the Magnetic Field Reader cable into rinse
or wash trigger connector on the Titan
control board (81-118-20). - With the door on the Titan fully open secure
the Magnetic Field Reader cable in the bottom
plate of the Titan with strain relief (81-183-1). - Close the door on the Titan.
- Place the Magnetic Field Reader against the
coil of the solenoid valve or motor housing to be
used for sensing. The sensing element is on the
bottom side of the Magnetic Field Reader below
the point of the arrow that is on the top. - Secure the Magnetic Field Reader in place with
the Hook Loop strap. The strap may be trimmed
as required. - Turn the power on the Titan.
- Turn on the power to the warewash machine.
- Energize the solenoid valve or motor to which
the Magnetic Field Reader is attached. - After one second a green LED on the Magnetic
Field Reader should illuminate next to the cable.
If it does not illuminate, reposition the sensor
until it does.
53DEMA Magnetic Field Reader
- De-energize the solenoid valve or motor. The
green LED should turn off after one second. If
it stays on, reposition the sensor. - When properly installed the green LED will turn
on one second after the solenoid valve or motor
which it is attached is activated. It will turn
off one second after deactivation.
54Inductive Warewash Probe
- Disconnect the power from the Titan and the
warewash machine. - Drain the warewash machine
- Disconnect the probe wire from the Titan
control board and remove the conductivity probe
from the tank. - Install the DEMA Inductive Warewash Probe in
the wash tank, through the wall shown on next
page. The hole through the center of the DEMA
Inductive Warewash Probe must be vertical. - Route the DEMA Inductive Warewash Probe cable,
as shown on the next page, into the Titan
enclosure. The connector and strain relief fit
the ¾ hole in the bottom-center access panel of
the Titan enclosure. - Plug the DEMA Inductive Warewash Probe cable
into the white eight pin connector on the Titan
control board (81-118-20). The connector is
directly above the microcontroller chip. - With the door on the Titan fully open secure
the DEMA Inductive Warewash Probe cable in the
bottom plate of the Titan with strain relief
(81-183-2 or-3). - Close the door on the Titan.
- Turn on the power to the Titan
- Turn on the power to the warewash machine.
