Like hacer and conocer, the verb oír (to hear)
has an irregular yo form in the present tense.

-oís
  • Some of its forms also require a spelling change
    where the í becomes an y.
  • Note that the nosotros and the vosotros forms
    have accents.

You may hear the expression Oye! Used throughout
the dialog. It is used to get someone's
attention, the way Hey! Is used in English. To
get Isabels attention Ricardo might say -Oye,
Isabel!
