Fabrication Process

• Deposit Poly(9,9-dioctylfluorene) (PFO) on glass
  substrate
• Place against porous alumina membrane
• Anneal for 2 hrs at 250 C, where polymer melts
  into holes in membrane
• Dissolve membrane in NaOH
• Resulting nanowires are generally between 250 and
  350 nm in diameter and on average 6 µm in length
• Nanowires have a PL peak at 460 nm, which is
  similar to the bulk PL.
