Sigma Pi Fraternity
  • Internal management is very crucial to any
    chapters success
  • Lead by example
  • Be firm, fair and consistent

3
Sigma Pi Fraternity
  • Tough situations call for tough solutions
  • Pull yourself away from the situation and take a
    black and white perspective
  • USE YOUR MANUALS!
  • Keep the Creed and the Ideals top of mind ALL the
    time!

Sigma Pi Fraternity
  • Situation 1
  • Background
  • Joe is a senior at your chapter.
  • He has been social chair for the past 3
semesters, getting some of the hottest sororities
on campus to mix with you.

What Do You Do?
  • The Problem
  • Joe feels like he has put enough into the
fraternity and it was time he could sit back and
    relax.
  • Joe comes to parties, but misses meetings
  • He is fined for missing the meetings. He has
not paid dues, so why would he pay the fines?

Sigma Pi Fraternity
  • Situation 2
  • Background
  • Mike is a sophomore, having joined Sigma Pi the
    previous semester.
  • He likes to have fun, but often get s a little
    out of hand at parties.

What Do You Do?
  • The Problem
  • Mike was drinking at the house and decided it
was time to set off fireworks.
  • Nobody wanted to join him, so he decided to set
off a few bottle rockets under the doors to the
sage and Second Counselors room, not causing much
damage, but setting the smoke detectors off all
    around the house.

Sigma Pi Fraternity
  • Situation 3
  • Background
  • Bill has been with the chapter for 3 years.
  • Bill has been responsible for bringing in 80 of
    the new members.
  • All of Bills dues are paid in full on time, and
    never late.
  • Bill has never missed a meeting.

What Do You Do?
  • The Problem
  • Bill was caught smoking pot in the chapter house
with a new member. Breaking fraternity and house
    rules.
  • Also, Bill is best friends with the Sage and
    First Counselor.

7
Sigma Pi Fraternity
  • Situation 4
  • Background
  • Jim is initiated into a TOP Sigma Pi Chapter.
He is glad to be there, but takes issue with a
lot of what distinguishes the chapter from the
    rest of the pack.

What Do You Do?
  • The Problem
  • He goes on a mini-campaign to change many of
the institutions in the chapter that have made it
    the success it is today.

8
Sigma Pi Fraternity
  • Situation 5
  • Background
  • Matt is initiated into a terrible Sigma Pi
Chapter. The chapter is perennially a failing
organization both on campus as well as with the
    National Fraternity.

Is this a problem?
What Do You Do?
  • The Problem
  • Matt takes a look around and does not like what
he sees. He wants to change the entire chapter
direction, so he is not a member of something he
    cant respect.

9
Sigma Pi Fraternity
  • Situation 6
  • Background
  • A new EC is installed in a 30 man chapter. The
Chapter consistently floats by. The NEW Sage and
his EC go to Mid-Year and are determined to make
a difference and show the world that their
    chapter can be the best.

What Do You Do?
  • The Problem
  • He goes back to his chapter and finds ZERO
support, except for his EC and local alumni.

10
Sigma Pi Fraternity
  • Have a solution before a problem starts
  • Set up a Judiciary Board
  • Officers Remember, you are elected for a reason.
    Lead your chapter!!!

11
Sigma Pi Fraternity
  • Fraternity is really pretty simple.

You promise something to a bunch of guys and they
promise the same back to you.
Then. you hold each other to that promise..
If someone breaks the promise, they do not get to
play anymore.
