Identified Problems/Issues

• Current legislation requires civilians to
  transport to the nearest medical facility
• No standardized course for driver first aid
• No training/certification for trainers
• Police and fire fighters do not have formal first
  aid training
• Current treatment of serious conditions
  suggests people do not have appropriate training
  or have forgotten basics

Proposed Interventions

• Assist in the drafting of legislation to
• Remove the requirement for transport victims,
  except under the direction of a trained emergency
  professional
• Establish standards for driver first aid, and
  licensing first aid trainers
• Establish licensing board for emergency medical
  services personnel
