US Government-owned Ship Types
  • MSC Surge Ships
  • Navy owned, but operated by a commercial company
  • All ROS 4, layberthed USEC USGC
  • LMSR have no limitation on use, however only used
    after no viable commercial alternatives
  • FSS have legal limitations on their use
  • No general cargo lifts (no waivers nor
    exceptions)
  • Only used to move exercise and crisis cargo
