"Fit in Deutsch 1" and "Fit in Deutsch 2" are two
new international examinations for young learners
of German aged 10 -15 years who have reached the
level of A1 or A2 of the Common European
Framework of Languages. Fit in Deutsch 1 is
normally taken by students who have covered about
110 to 130 lessons of 45 minutes in our schools
this would mean at the end of Form 2. Fit in
Deutsch 2 would normally be taken at the end of
Form 4. Fit in Deutsch measures not only the
students current level of knowledge, but also
acts as motivation to continue learning.
5Common European Framework of Reference
- The Common European Framework of Reference, was
compiled on the initiative of the Council of
Europe with the aim of achieving greater
uniformity and transparency in foreign language
learning amongst the European member states. This
serves to improve mobility within the member
states, to make it easier to recognise each
others language certificates, and to promote
co-operation between educational establishments
in the various countries.

10Fit in Deutsch 1 2 Description of
examinations The examinations consist of a
written test with sections on listenening
comprehension, reading comprehension and written
expression. Duration 60 minutes (A1) 90 minutes
(A2) PLUS an Oral test Introduction, asking
and answering questions, formulating requests, to
act verbally to prescribed situations FIT 1 -
Taken in a group of 6 or 8 students 15
