2Stage setting Christmas morning in a family
home. There is a Christmas tree on the right hand
side of the stage and Grandpa Chad is sitting in
an old comfortable chair on the left side. There
is a window/puppet theatre in the centre of the
back of the stage There are small gifts under the
tree and 3 very large gifts (eg Fridge cartons)
in a row at the back of the stage.(See directions
for labels on each large gift) Glen and Vanessa
run in from the front left.

Christmas Both Happy Christmas Grandpa Glen
Can we open the presents yet? Grandpa Chad Ask
your Mother Both Mu-um can we open the presents
yet? Mum (voice from offstage) Ok You start. Ill
be in soon They open all the small gifts, giving
some to Grandpa and setting some aside for Mum
4Glen Thats all the presents now. Can we open
the Big Ones? Vanessa They are just for
decoration They are here every year. Grandpa Chad
Why dont you try opening them and I pray that
the eyes of your understanding will be open this
year First of all who are the gifts for? Both
(reading the tags) Everyone, Everybody,
Whosoever Grandpa Chad And who are they
from? Both (reading the tags) From God, with
love from God, with lots of love from God, love
always God Vanessa I told you they were just for
decoration. God doesnt give you presents. SONG
WHAT GIFTS WILL WE GET
5Glen Well Im going to open one (Both Wow
look! Its a book! Grandpa Chad Its a Bible.
What does it say? Vanessa (reading) In the
beginning God created the heavens and the
earth Grandpa Chad God gave us the heavens and
the earth and everything in it . And if you need
a reminder just open that window and have a
listen to those birds, carolling fit to bust for
Christmas day! THE CAROL OF THE BIRDS WITH
PUPPETS
6Glen Wow what s in the next present? (They
peel off the paper from the second box) Vanessa
Its a bowl of fruit and a globe. I get it The
globe is to remind us God made the world but why
give us a bowl of fruit? Glen Because God made
the fruit of course duh! Vanessa No there must
be more to it than that. Grandpa Chad The globe
also reminds you that all round the world people
are celebrating Christmas with lots of different
customs (Children in national costumes come out
of the second box)

second box) As each one comes out they call out a
Christmas greeting in a different
language Germany Frohliche Weichnachten
France Joyeux Noel India Christmas
karmenayein Spain Feliz Navidad They sing Feliz
Navidad Vanessa (offering the bowl of fruit)
Would you like some fruit? Box Children We have
fruit! The fruit of the Spirit.
8Box Child What is in that present? (They all
peel the paper on the third gift) Glen It is
Christmas decorations! Vanessa And a Nativity
scene! Box Child Ooh lets set it up! Off we
go to Bethlehem is played (Boy and Girl and Box
Children lead Nativity Scene Figures out of the
third box and set them up as a manger scene in
the centre of the stage) While they are setting
up the manger scene Christmas Carols are playing
eg Away in a Manger
9(When they have set up the Nativity scene they
all admire it) Box Child Who was this gift
for? Glen and Vanessa WHOEVER Box Child
There are some Christmas decorations They sing
John 316 For God so loved the World (they hang
bauble/worlds on tree) He gave His only Son
(they hang crosses on tree) That whoever
believes in Him Shall not die (they hang
bell/gravestones on tree) But live forever and
ever and ever and ever (they pull out lengths
lengths of forever paper chains) AMEN (they place
an AMEN star on top of the tree)
