• Creation of full-length infectious DNAs for
  positive-strand RNA viruses, esp. Flaviviruses.
• to enhance safety of live, attenuated candidate
  vaccines (dengue, JE)
• to elucidate interactions of viral proteins
  required for replication
• to identify new mutations with an attenuating
  phenotype (dengue, West Nile)
• Mechanism for dengue-induced apoptosis of
  infected cells.
