• Tidal energy is the use of
• the moons gravitational
• force to move
• the ocean tides through a propel converter that
  converts the high and low tides into electricity.
• IT is the most reliable source of energy.

• There are two theories on how to change tides
  into energy.
• The first is converting energy of the tides
  horizontal movement of the water into
  electricity.
• The second is producing energy from the rise and
  drop of water levels.

• to be a renewable source of energy
• This energy does not burn
• or destroy fossil fuels and is able to be used
  several times.

• technology is required to capture tidal energy
• tidal power is expensive
• one major tidal generating station is in
  operation.
• This is a 240 megawatt station at the
• mouth of the La Rance river
• estuary in France.

• Can cost up to 15 billion just for the set up.
• Costs approximately
• 0.56cents per an hour.(this number comes from
  estimates from around europe).
• IN the long run tidal energy is cheaper and more
  efficient.
