  • Good casts make better finished product
  • Paint will not hide problems
  • Clean and prep as needed before starting

  • Patch holes and smooth problem areas
  • Bake at 225 for 10 minutes

  • Gently sand sculpey areas smooth
  • Sand any other rough spots
  • Fit neckplug
  • Remove dust from head

  • Acrylics
  • Delta Ceramcoat, Folkart, Apple Barrell (no
    Americana)
  • Cheap
  • Washable
  • Easy to mix

  • Taklon synthetic
  • 6 or 8 for flesh/hair
  • 0 for eyebrows, facial hair, etc
  • 10/0 spotter for eyes and detail
  • Cheap brushes cause mental health problems
  • Clean after each use
  • Replace often!

  • Organize yourself
  • Place for brushes, paints, painted heads, tools

  • Color heads
  • Slick heads
  • Prime white if needed

  • 6 or 8 brush
  • Thin coats, one at a time. Let dry between
    coats.
  • DO NOT GLOB
  • Use Exacto to pick bits that show up after first
    coat when dry

  • This is one coat, several coats may be needed
