EMAD

• The General Staff of Defense (EMAD) constitutes
  the auxiliary organ of control and support to the
  Chief Staff of Defense. It has a Headquarter and
  a Operations Staff Command as subordinated. It
  was created to define and develop the military
  strategy and to plan and conduct military
  operations.

CESEDEN

• The Centre for National Defence Studies is the
  main military joint teaching institution. Its
  tasks are
• Courses on advanced military studies.
• Foster participation of experts in
  civilian-related subjects.
• Combined / Joint Doctrine.
• National Defence, Military Policy, Armed Forces,
  and Joint and Combined Employment.
• Military History.
• Links with similar Centres and Agencies.
• CHODs main advisor on joint education and
  doctrine.

CEMFAS

• Every Academic Year The Higher Staff College of
  the Armed Forces (ESFAS) conducts two different
  courses
• The Senior Command Course aimed at preparing
  selected Colonels / Captains prior to their
  promotion (if this is the case) to general ship.
• The General Staff Course (CEMFAS) aim is to
  prepare officers to accomplish staff duties in
  Units, Centres and Organisations, in Single
  Service, Joint and Combined Staffs, and in any
  other security and defence related centres.
• ESFAS is one of the schools that belong to
  CESEDEN.

• DEPLOYMENT of the JTLS in the CESEDEN (2003)
• Initial Installation (version 2.5).
• Systems set up and project take off
• 1 non commissioned officer (NCO).
• 2 supporting engineers from Isdefe.
• FIRST YEAR. EXHIBITION EXERCISE (2004)
• Training, studies of viability and documentation
  elaboration.
• Exhibition exercise (30 assistants).

• INCLUDED IN THE CEMFAS CERTIFICATION STUDY (2005)
• Execution of an exercise for CAX instruction (160
  student officers).
• CELTIC scenario handed over to Spain by the
  French CID.
• Made slight modifications of the situation of
  forces and units.
• 1 officer and 2 engineers.
• AS OF TODAY (2006)
• Execution of an exercise for CAX instruction with
  the CELTIC 2005 scenario.
• Included a terrorist side and NGOs refugees in
  the scene.
• 1 officer, 1 NCO and 2 engineers.
• Recent extention of the JTLS staff
• 1 NCO.
• 1 engineer.
• 8 civilian operators.
