  aboriginal peoples have been able to create and
  maintain their own online environments under
  local and regional control ownership.? In LA,
  e.g. indigenous groups have depended on
  non-indigenous NGOs, supporters in diaspora -
  cyber-brokers (Forte, 2006).
• Landzelius (2006) refers to the self-authored
  engagements of indigenous peoples online as
  indigenous cyberactivism. ? outreach and
  inreach activities/initiatives

• 1970s, several Aboriginal newspapers and
  newsletters came into existence across Canada ?
  In Northern Ontario the bilingual Wawatay News
  was published for the first time in 1973.
• The Wawatay Native Communications Society
  established a community radio system for
  Ontarios northern First Nations in 1974 the
  Wawatay Radio Network was licensed in 1986.
• In 1991 the satellite-supported Television
  Northern Canada (TVNC) was launched followed
  1999 by The Aboriginal Peoples Television Network
  (APTN) after TVCN was approved for a national
  broadcast license.
• In 1994, the Kuh-Ke-Nah Network (K-Net) was
  established - MyKnet.org in 2000.
