Requirements for an Internship

  • ATTENDANCE RATE OF 95 OR HIGHER
  • MAINTAIN A DISCIPLINARY RECORD CLEAN OF TRUANCY,
    DISRESPECT, ETC
  • MUST HAVE A GPA OF 2.0 OR HIGHER
  • MUST BE ABLE TO RECEIVE 3 TEACHER RECOMMENDATIONS
  • MUST HAVE A DRIVERS LICENSE AND TRANSPORTATION
    TO THE INTERNSHIP SITE

What is ICE?
  • Interdisciplinary Cooperative Education
  • Prepares students for gainful employment
  • Provides opportunities for students to gain
    practical work-based learning experience
  • 2 components
  • Related Class
  • Work-Based Learning Experiences
  • 3 total credit hours
  • Students attend school half the day in the
    regular classroom setting
  • Remainder of the day is devoted to work-based
    learning at local training stations

Do I Qualify for ICE?
  • Student Must
  • Be a senior
  • Be in good standing with attendance office
  • Satisfactorily complete ALL the necessary
    paperwork in the ICE application
  • Provide their own transportation to and from work
  • Agree to work a minimum of 15 hours per week for
    pay
  • Secure their own placement at a
    coordinator-approved training station owned or
    supervised by someone other than a relative.
