What is a Phobia?
  • A phobia is an irrational fear of an object or
    activity and leads to avoidance
  • There are many types of Phobias
  • People can be effected in a variety of ways and
    severities

  • Here is a short list of a few types of Phobias
  • Agliophobia A fear of pain
  • Claustrophobia A fear of confined spaces
  • Phasmophobia A fear of ghosts

How This Affects People
  • Many normal people have a phobia. They have a
    fear of something that is not really a threat and
    the threat is made up in their minds. For the
    most part, these people do not let their fears
    consume their life, but sadly this is not true
    for everyone. If you have a fear of leaving the
    house, this can affect you greatly. Some people
    may be afraid to use an elevator. If you work on
    the 75th story of a skyscraper, this could make
    you late for work on a regular basis. Some people
    can deal with their fears on their own. Some
    people need help. A phobia can affect a person in
    a variety of ways, it just depends what type of
    phobia it is and how severe it is.

Do You Have a Phobia?
  • Do you have a fear of something that most
    people find to be safe? Do you question your fear
    of this object of activity? Does your fear impact
    on your life?
  • If you have a phobia, you cant let it control
    your life. You need to seek help and deal with
    this problem.

Ways of Getting rid of Phobias
  • If your Phobia is not severe, you may be able
    to over come your fear by simply acknowledging
    the problem and realizing the level of threat.
  • If you have a severe phobia, you may need
  • professional help.
