Early Years and Hemingways Young Adulthood

• Ernest Hemingway was born on July 21, 1899 in
  Oak park, Illinois a community outside of
  Chicago. His parents were Clarence and Grace
  Hemingway.
• In 1917 Hemingway Graduated from high school
  and immediately tried to join the military but
  his bad eyesight prevented it. He soon became an
  ambulance driver for the Red Cross on the Italian
  Font. He was Injured in an accident in July of
  1918 which ended his short career in the Red
  Cross.
