ListservWhat is it and how is it used?

• A listserv is a service for mailing-list
  management that can be used to collect the email
  addresses of people interested in a certain
  topic.
• Each time one member of the listserv transmits a
  message, it is automatically forwarded to all
  other members.

• Ask questions
• Receive replies
• Share documents
• Stay abreast of the contributions made by other
  group members

• The CARMEN listserv will be administered by
  BIREME and will be accessible through the VHL.
• Pre-authorization is required for all
  subscriptions. This will allow CARMEN to build a
  directory and target the specific interests of
  the user.

NewsletterWhat is it and how is it used?

• Will be disseminated through the listserv but the
  frequency and content of the newsletter will
  depend on the information contributed by the
  CARMEN Network.
• Newsletter archives will be available through the
  VHL.

Bulletin BoardWhat is it and how is it used?

• A bulletin board is a computer system used as an
  information source and forum for a particular
  interest group.
• Serves as an electronic message center and an
  online discussion group.

  stored on a server.
• Participants check in periodically to review
  recent contributions and their own.

• This will allow DB members to increase their

  better informed decision-makers.
