Jessie Roberts - Plan weekly with your childs teacher
- Provide Reading and Writing instruction to
students in K 3rd for 45 minutes daily

21Third Grade Testing Tune-Up
- The Primary Goal of Title I Literacy Groups at
the 3rd Grade Level is to Prepare all students
for State Testing.

- Third graders are tested in Reading in October.
- Third graders are tested in Reading Math in
late April and early May.

- Fourth graders are tested in Reading, Writing,
Math in late April/early May. - Fifth graders are tested in Reading, Math,
Science, and Social Studies in late April/early
May. - Sixth graders are tested in Reading and Math in
late April/early May.

- All Public Schools are required by Ohio Law to
administer the Ohio Achievement Test (OAT) to
students in grades 3 8. - All Public Schools are required by Ohio Law to
administer the 5 sections of the Ohio Graduation
Test (OGT) to High School Students.
27Title I Funding
- Title I dollars help fund our Literacy Group
Teams. - Title I is a federally funded program that has
been in existence in Ohio for over thirty years.

- At Newton Elementary, Mrs. Christine Breckenridge
and Ms. Debra Roskwitalski are the Title I
Teachers who lead the Literacy Program. - At Utica Elementary, Mrs. Susan Hatch and Miss
Karen Shomaker are the Title I Teachers who lead
the Literacy Program.
29Third Grade Parent Involvement
- Third Grade Groups send home testing packets
completed at school with a slip to be signed by a
parent.
