History of TTBH
  • Established under House Bill 3 in 1967
  • Located in the RGV
  • Began services in Hidalgo County expanded to
    Willacy and Cameron Counties in 1974
  • Name change to TTBH in 2006.

Catchment Area Demographics
  • Catchment area population of 1.1 million
  • Major cities include McAllen, Harlingen, and
    Brownsville
  • 34.9 of the population is under 5 years old
    while 65.1 is over 18.
  • Ethnic breakdown 88 Hispanic, 10.8 Caucasian,
    and 1.2 other.
  • 51.8 Female, 48.2 Male

Service Population Demographics
  • In FY 2005, TTBH served 10,278 unduplicated
    clients.
  • 15 of clients were under 18 and 85 were 18 and
    over.
  • Ethnic breakdown 88 Hispanic, 10 Caucasian,
    and 2 other.
  • 51 Female and 49 Male
  • 71 had no insurance or third party payor

  • 130 clinical staff members
  • Ethnic breakdown 88.7 Hispanic, 9 Caucasian,
    1.5 Asian, and .5 African American
  • Ethnic breakdown of clinical staff closely
    mirrors ethnic breakdown of service population.
