2 Samuel 2115-17

• 15 When the Philistines were at war again with
  Israel, David and his servants with him went down
  and fought against the Philistines and David
  grew faint.
• 16 Then Ishbi-Benob, who was one of the sons of
  the giant, the weight of whose bronze spear was
  three hundred shekels, who was bearing a new
  sword, thought he could kill David.
• 17 But Abishai the son of Zeruiah came to his
  aid, and struck the Philistine and killed him.
  Then the men of David swore to him, saying, "You
  shall go out no more with us to battle, lest you
  quench the lamp of Israel."

2 Samuel 2118-19

• 18 Now it happened afterward that there was
  again a battle with the Philistines at Gob. Then
  Sibbechai the Hushathite killed Saph, who was one
  of the sons of the giant.
• 19 Again there was war at Gob with the
  Philistines, where Elhanan the son of
  Jaare-Oregim the Bethlehemite killed the brother
  of Goliath the Gittite (Lahmi 1 Chron. 205),
  the shaft of whose spear was like a weavers
  beam.

2 Samuel 2120-22

• 20 Yet again there was war at Gath, where there
  was a man of great stature, who had six fingers
  on each hand and six toes on each foot,
  twenty-four in number and he also was born to
  the giant.
• 21 So when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of
  Shimea, Davids brother, killed him.
• 22 These four were born to the giant in Gath,
  and fell by the hand of David and by the hand of
  his servants.

Giant 1

• Goliath means to be uncovered, laid bare or to
  be exiled spirit of rejection, shame
• Killed by David - means loved one, beloved
• Spiritual meaning The key to overcoming the
  spirit of rejection and shame is to fight it with
  the Agape love of God. When we experience the
  love of God our Father it will destroy feelings
  of rejection and shame in our lives. His love
  covers a multitude of sins

• Ishbi-benob Inhabitant of a high place spirit
  of pride
• Killed by Abishai My father (roots) is a gift
  whatever I am has been given by grace
  willingness to receive from the Father with
  humility.

Giant 2

• Symbolic meaning
• The spirit of pride (that exalts self) is
  destroyed by the spirit of grace and humility,
  acknowledging our roots and our indebtedness to
  our parents/forefathers
• All that we are and have comes as a gift from our
  Father God and we have nothing to boast about.
• Any sense of self-achievement and exaltation will
  only place us in bondage and reinforce this
  stronghold of pride in our lives

• Saph Tall doorkeeper, guarding the threshold
  (Hindrance to breakthrough)
• Killed by Sibbecai or Sibbechai " weaver
  Means folden together, wrapped, to interweave,
  to be interwoven
• Sibbechai was one of Davids guard and 8th
  captain for the 8th month of 24,000 men of the
  kings army a Judaite, descendant of Zerah and
  called the Hushathite

• Symbolic Meaning
• The tall doorkeeper who constantly blocks us from
  entering into Gods promises can only be defeated
  when we weave ourselves or get connected with
  other Christians (of like faith) to attack this
  giant. This giant cannot be defeated by one
  person because he is so huge he covers and
  blocks the entire door!
• The other meaning is that we have to allow Gods
  word to be weaved folded into our lives so that
  we become stronger.

• Lahmi Bread, food, and sustenance a basic
  need (The spirit of insecurity and fear Kia
  Su)
• 1 Chronicles 205 Again there was war with the
  Philistines, and Elhanan the son of Jair killed
  Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the
  shaft of whose spear was like a weavers beam
• Killed by Elhanan " God has been gracious",
  shown favour (the goodness or graciousness of
  God)

  written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but
  by every word that proceeds from the mouth of
  God."

• Symbolic meaning
• The spirit of insecurity will cause us to focus
  on our basic needs and we are never able to go
  beyond survival mode to serve the Lord and tithe
  to the Lord. When we dont tithe we are robbing
  God and deprives us from be blessed.
• The revelation of Gods goodness and favour will
  break that stronghold in our life and help us to
  reach out beyond our basic needs of food and
  survival.

• God wants to bless us so that we can be a
  blessing to community and the world (Gen 123).
  The Lord is Jehovah Jireh the Lord who provides
  can break this poverty mentality or curse.

• Giant with no name/identity has 12 fingers and 12
  toes (spirit of greed, discontentment, adding to
  Gods will/word)
• Killed by Jonathan or Jehonathan "Jehovah has
  given
• He was a nephew of David who like David slew a
  giant of Gath - one of Davids mighty warriors

• Symbolic meaning
• This strongman has no identity and causes people
  to lose their identity. Such people suffer from
  an identity crisis and lose confidence and
  direction/vision in life.
• Consequently such people seek materialism,
  relationships and other things to fill that void
  or gap and become very discontented with what
  they have.
• The spirit of discontentment has caused many
  problems with individuals and family in terms of
  excessive spending and unfaithfulness can
  result in depression

• The key to overcoming this problem is to find our
  satisfaction and fulfillment in the Lord. He is
  all we need! What he has given to us is always
  adequate and if it is not he can multiply it.
• Be happy and contented with who we are and what
  he has given to us and start to use even the one
  talent to serve the Lord do not bury our
  talent.

• It is usually the person with the one talent who
  feels useless and inadequate and has the tendency
  to hide or bury it. They withdraw into their
  shell and dont mix with others.
• God has given us more than enough! Be happy with
  our looks, talents and abilities, wealth, family,
  parents, heritage/roots (proud to be a Indian,
  Indonesian, Filipino, Chinese, Australian, etc)
