- DECA is an association of Marketing Students who
compete in different areas of business. This past
year, I attended a Marketing program through a
local tech school in my county. As a group, me
and two other girls, Ashley and Katie, put
together Chapter Awards. This project is a
scrapbook that showcases our entire groups
progress and involvement in DECA. Through fund
raisers, charity work for MDA and Cystic
Fibrosis, and numerous group activities, our book
came together. All of us attended District
competition at Ferris State and 24 students
medaled. Going on to state at Dearborn, we had 8
students medal for Internationals in Nashville,
TN. We were on our way!!!
5Internationals
- By making it to International Level of DECA
competition means you have joined an elite few
(1/14 DECA students) who persevere and make it.
At this years competition, students from Guam,
Toronto, Panama, and Germany were in attendance.
A fun trend at Nationals was pin collecting. Each
state has an individual design and each student
can buy and trade for any state they can barter.

19Just for the recordRAMAN! Here we are, the last
night of fun, and all we can do is eat noodles.
20Warning No pillow cases were harmed in this
process!
Lets just say that on the way homeSteve (left)
and Kyle (right) found pillow cases to entertain
them.
21And for the end of the pillow case files, Steve
provided the highway patrol with his KKK version
of Dog sticks head out the window. He did manage
to scare an older couple into driving a whole lot
faster!
22This is the END...
As our trip came to an end, we all agreed that it
was way too long and exhausting. With the dramas
and excitement of the competition behind us, we
could now go back to our regular lives and onward
for me to Western.
