1Unit 4 Hot Seating Scenario(2 slides)
Car Accident A road traffic accident was caused
by a child running out in front of a car. The
child was unhurt, driver unhurt, passenger went
through a windscreen cut face and concussion.
Class to take the role of a police office
interviewing the witnesses and those directly
involved.
Â
2 Passenger  You were late for the dentist, your
friend offered you a lift as it was only up the
road you did not bother to put your seat belt on.
The last thing that you remember was hearing
your favourite song on the radio, so you asked
your friend to turn it up. Your face is now
bleeding, you are in the road and freezing cold
even though its summer. You are concussed so
you do not remember the details.
Child  You were playing with your friend by a
busy road. You kicked the ball so your friend
went and got it. You followed your friend out
into the road and you didnt see a car coming.
Although you made it to the other side safely you
were shaking and scared you were going to be in
trouble. You heard the car screech its brakes
and hit a parked car. You have seen that someone
is hurt.
Adult Passer By  You were walking your dog
along the road, you saw children playing with a
ball on the pavement. Then you heard a car
approaching with loud music, it seemed to be
speeding. The ball went into the road, one child
followed, second child crossed the path of the on
coming car, the car braked and swerved to avoid
the child and hit a parked car. The passenger
went through the windscreen. You picked up your
mobile phone and called an ambulance and the
police.
Driver  You were late to get your friend to the
dentist, so you might have been going a bit too
fast. You looked down to change the radio, when
you looked up you saw a child in the road, so
braked and swerved into a parked car. You are
unhurt but shaken. Your friend went through the
windscreen and is obviously hurt.
Childs Friend  You ran across the road to get
your ball, leaving your friend on the other side.
You heard the screech of a car braking quickly,
a bang and turned round. Your friend joined you.
He/she seems to be shaking and is upset.
