When a Norwegian thinks about a good life, he/she
thinks something about nature
- Norway is still covered by 90 nature
- (mountains, forests, lakes and rivers)
- We are all living in close proximity to nature
- Modern life is noisy, stressful and physically
inactive. - Outdoor life in nature is mentally relaxing,
quiet, - beautiful and contributes to physical
activity
3Norwegian outdoor life is ensured by old
traditions and in the Outdoor Recreation Act of
1957.
Traditions of Outdoor Life in Norway
The public right of access comprises the right of
passage and of stopping on uncultivated land as
well as on parts of home fields in winter, and
consequently is an essential basis for all
outdoor recreation.

Norwegian Trekking Association (DNT)

- Main task is to promote trekking and improve
conditions for all who enjoy the country's wide
range of outdoor attractions

- - 6 500 km of marked skiing tracks
- DNT arranges 3000 guided hiking trips and courses

8Food at DNT cabins is to a high degree based on
local growth, production and traditions
