Living things can be very simple and have just
one cell. Then that cell does all the work of the
organism. As organisms become more complex,
cells become specialized and grouped by their
function or job. Can you name each type of cell
below in your journal?

Nerve cell
Blood cells
Brain Cells
In your journal write about three other
specialized types of cells that work in your
body.

Your answers could include bone cells, muscle
cells, skin cells, and many more. Your body is a
very complex organism and it contains many
specialized cells. These cells group together to
form tissues and then tissues group together to
form organs.
