2Centre Background
- National training centre in knowledge utilization
and policy implementation, comprised of a
consortium of universities, research institutes
and health authorities. - Multiyear funding from Canadian Health Services
Research Foundation, Alberta Heritage Foundation
for Medical Research and Canadian Institutes of
Health Research.
3Mission
- To contribute to the improved transfer of
knowledge for the betterment of health policy and
health care services.
4Mandate
- Provide training to researchers students to do
knowledge transfer (KT) in the health sector - Train scholars in the field of KT with the aim of
building capacity - Engage decision makers to maximize policy
relevance of KT training scholarship - Increase KT skills among healthcare managers and
professionals to promote research/evidence based
decision making

- Trainees are pursuing graduate degrees in
Business, Political Science, Public Policy,
Nursing, Sociology, Community Health and
Organizational Analysis - In addition to these graduate students, there are
a number of affiliates in disciplines as diverse
as dental hygiene and oceanography who have
participated in Centre courses and Institutes

- Students are enrolled in graduate programs at
their home universities and take a cognate minor
in knowledge transfer, consisting of two courses
