How do each of these depend on science?

What are your choices?
Everyone will do science but which pathway is
your choice There are TWO pathways to choose from
DOUBLE AWARD (2 GCSEs) TRIPLE AWARD (3 GCSEs)

Double Award Science

• This will be studied by most students.
• You will have 4 lessons a week
• It doesnt use any option blocks
• You will get one GCSE at the end of Year 10 and
  one GCSE at the end of Year 11
• Supports further study at A-Level

Double Award Science - Assessment

• In year 10
• Two exams (January and June)
• Can do tasks and a Science in the News report.

• In year 11
• Three exams (January and June)
• Investigation coursework based on practical and
  analysis

Triple Award Science

• This will be studied by some students.
• You will have 4 lessons a week 4 more a week
  (either in Y10 or Y11)
• It uses one option block
• You will get three GCSEs at the end of Year 11
• Supports further study at A-Level (very good if
  you want a science related career)

• For Biology, Chemistry and Physics
• One exam in June Year 10
• One exam in June Year 11
• Coursework
• - Can do tasks experiments assessed
• throughout the course
• - Science in the News report on a current
• scientific topic

Is Triple Award Science For Me?
Are you interested in Science? Are you predicted
a Level 6 or 7 at the end of year 9? Do you work
well in a team? Do you have good communication
skills? Can you listen to the ideas and opinions
of others? Do you want a career in the world of
Science?

What do students studying Triple Science Think?
I like this subject a lot. It involves doing
more experiment than before. I think there will
be more career paths for me in the future with
triple science
I always look forward to my science lessons and
I am glad I picked the subject!
