Geography Fit Matrix
The method used to calculate the percentages of
fit of each of the geographies This value is
based on the number of COA's that fall in one
(dominant) area of the linked-TO geography. For
each FROM area the COA's in the dominant TO area
is calculated as a percentage of all COA's that
fall within the FROM area. The final value is the
average for all areas in the linked-FROM
geography. For example If DZ (FROM) are linked
to HB (TO), on average 99.92 of the COA's in
each DZ area fall within one health board area.
The following classification was them
made Note X means 6 - match not recommended, in
fact using would probably compromise the
robustness of the outcome (i.e. statistics or
figures). Should note these are the Scotland wide
match, as mentioned previously a 3 may mean the
geographies are a very good match but a very bad
fit in particular areas (ie rural or urban areas)
