Background
Blind children simply cannot see us and that is
their tragedy, but we do not see them because we
do not want to.

• Blind people in Russia
• Blind children in Russia receive almost no
  special treatment for now.
• Its in our power to change this situation. We
  need to give them a chance for equal education
  and care opportunities.

Basics

• Blind children gain experience only through
  sounds, taste, smell and touch
• In order to realize their capabilities in the
  modern society, visually impaired children should
  have possibilities to learn, gain experience and
  impressions through their perception channels
• Unique safe environment will be created at the
  sensory playground where children will be able to
  explore the world around them
• This playground (Sense Garden) will be a sensory
  experience school for thousands of blind children
  from all over Russia
• In Russia there is no such type of playground.
  This will be the 1st one!!!!!!

About the project

• Sense Garden is a charity project dedicated to
  the fund-raising for and construction of the
  first Russian sensory playground for blind and
  visually impaired children (3-6-year-olds)

Sensory playground

• Kindergarten 224 for visually impaired children,
• Tsvetnoy boulevard, Moscow
• On April 25, 2007, the Moscow City Land Resources
  Department allocated 560 m² of land for the
  playground construction on the condition that the
  territory is to be developed within 1 year,
  otherwise it shall be recalled by the city
  authorities
• Construction beginning September 2007
• Expected construction finalization June, 1,
  2008
• Construction budget 1,8 Mil RUB

Children draw

• These are drawings of the children who can
  only see light and distinguish paint colors by
  smell. Using their fingers, they draw the
  pictures they see with their souls.
